Prevent Back Injuries with Safe Work Practices

Our backs are made up of bones, muscle and tissue with each being susceptible to injury alone or in conjunction.  Back pain and injury can be extremely limiting and is cited as the primary reason people miss work. As much as 80% of the population experiences back pain in their life according to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA).

Recovery from back pain and injuries may require medication, therapy and even surgery.  This is one time the idiom “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” seems to hold true.  The Video On Demands courses Elements of Back Care and Back Safety focus on preventing back injuries. It is understood all injuries will not and cannot be prevented, with that in mind the videos also explains how are backs function, proper lifting techniques, stretching and exercises, ergonomics and suggestions for treating back pain.
